Sandflow’s Live Activity can show the elapsed session for a selected app while that app is open. Dynamic Island appears on supported iPhones when the device is unlocked. On other supported iPhones, check the Lock Screen Live Activity rather than looking for a Dynamic Island your device does not have.
Configure both ends of the session
Create one Is Opened automation with Sandflow’s Start stopwatch action and another Is Closed automation with Stop stopwatch. Select the same app inside both actions and allow automatic running. The setup page separates the earlier Shortcuts layout from iOS 27. Set up the two automations.
Check permissions and the display setting
Enable Show Dynamic Island inside Sandflow and check the app’s Live Activities setting in iOS. Then open the tracked app, leave it, and verify the session in Sandflow. If usage records but no timer appears, check the display settings first. Troubleshoot the live timer.
Use a widget for the daily summary
The Home Screen widget is a separate display for selected-app statistics. It does not promise a refresh every second, and it does not remain onscreen while you scroll. Choose a Live Activity for the session and a widget for a glance between sessions. Compare and configure the two displays.

Do I need an iPhone with Dynamic Island?
No. Sandflow also supports Live Activities and widgets, but Dynamic Island gives supported iPhones the most visible timer experience.
